Psychology lessons from the BBC: Why organizational change has to start with the staff
Abstract
With levels of competition ever increasing, even the most traditionally confident of organizations are feeling the pressure to stay in the game. Stuck in long‐standing strategic ruts with the same names dominating key roles, more and more firms are finding that revenues are falling as market share is eroded. Worse, they can see no way out. Communication breaks down, staff become demoralized and negative feelings stand in the way of a much‐needed turnaround. Enter the new CEO.
