Abstract

Hired to modernise a traditional charity, Janet Morrison has made an impact at Independent Age, introducing changes to its services that aim to reflect what older people want today. Janet admits it has been challenging: communicating what needs to be done to staff and, lately, facing up to the impact of the economic downturn. When times get tough, however, Janet's motivation comes from talking and listening to the very people she wants to help.
