Abstract
In creating hospitality management educational programmes in developing countries, one may learn from the experience of developing countries to benchmark. However, the challenges and problems faced by hospitality educators in developing countries are often different from the experiences in developed countries. Therefore, identifying and analyzing current and future needs, trends and challenges of the hospitality industry of the respective country is essential to ensure success. This paper emphasizes the strategic approach required in such developmental processes. Educational programmes and hotel schools created and led by the researcher are referred to as “action learning” case studies.
