Air 2000 to establish own line maintenance

Manchester-based Air 2000 has set up its own line maintenance stations at five of its main operating bases on the UK mainland, in readiness for possible expansion over the next few years.

Under the new arrangement the charter airline's fleet of Boeing 757s and Airbus A320s will be maintained by Air 2000 licensed engineers. With its existing line maintenance base at Bristol Airport, Air 2000 is already an approved maintenance organisation under both JAR 145 and JAR Ops 1 sub-part M.

Air 2000 has signed a letter of intent covering both an extension to its existing heavy maintenance contract with FLS Aerospace, together with the provision of component support and heavy maintenance for the airline's future Boeing 767 fleet.
