Over 40 optical filter materials designed to ensure cockpit and avionics displays are compatible with night vision goggles (NVGs) are available as standard products from Oxley Avionics, a leader in NVG technology. Developed for use with industry standard incandescent, LED, CRT and CCFL sources, the filters meet or exceed MIL-L-857 62A and RAE Working Paper No. 6 specifications, plus many other aircraft-specific requirements derived from these specifications.

The range includes filters for high temperature applications such as exterior position, navigation and anti-collision lighting. A sample kit comprising a selection of the 12 filters most commonly used in aircraft upgrades can be supplied at a nominal price.

The standard filters, which are listed in a new catalogue, are available in NVIS/NVG Green A (Classes A, B and 13W), Green B (Class A), Yellow (Classes A and B), Red (Class B) and White (Classes B and 13W) in thickness from 1.0 to 4.3mm, and phototopic transmittance from 7 to 91 per cent.

Other filter materials for special applications can be supplied by Oxley, which also offers a design service to support new applications.
