UMECO plc, reportedly one of the UK's leading aerospace distributors, has won shareholder approval for the sale of Fluid Transfer, its aircraft refuelling business, to South African engineering group, Sturrock and Robson.

UMECO plc, based in Leamington Spa, used Pricewaterhouse Coopers as lead advisers and sponsors for the transaction, drawing on the firm's aerospace expertise and public company advisory services.

Clive Snowden, Chief Executive of UMECO plc, comments: "UMECO will continue to concentrate on 'value added' distribution to the aerospace industry. The group will use the proceeds to develop its core activities which may include acquisitions".
