BMW Rolls-Royce reports that Hawaiian Airlines intends to purchases up to 20 Boeing 717-200 twinlets, powered by two BMW Rolls-Royce engines each. The value of 40 BR715 power plants for 20 aircraft is worth more then US$100 million for BMW Rolls-Royce.
Hawaiian Airlines has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to order 13 Boeing 717-200 regional jets with rights to purchase an additional seven 717-200s. Delivery of the first Hawaiian 717-200 will be in February 2001, with the remainder scheduled for delivery in the same year.
