CROSSCAT Mechanic Training Certificated under new JAR.147 Rules

Keywords: CROSSCAT, Training, Mechanics

CROSSCAT, the collaborative undertaking between Crossair and General Electric Capital Aviation Training (GECAT), has been certificated for mechanic training under the new JAR 147 rules. For CROSSCAT this certification means a further stop towards a European aviation training centre.

The so-called JAR 147 type rating approval permits CROSSCAT to train aircraft mechanics to JAR 147 standards for type- specific work on the aircraft types operated by Crossair – the Embraer 145, the Avro RJ 85/ 100, the Saab 340 and the Saab 2000. The license for these mechanics is valid throughout Europe and in all other countries which recognise the JAR (Joint Aviation Requirements) regulations. This means that CROSSCAT can train and give further training for mechanics for other airlines throughout Europe.
