Alfie – the movie

Alfa Laval have recently completed a 15min video which explores the features and benefits of using Alfie, its centrifugal cleaning system, to extend dramatically the life of coolants and cutting fluids.

The machine featured in the film, the Alfie 400, is a completely self- contained unit that can simply be wheeled into place alongside a machine's coolant tank and start the cleaning process reportedly within a matter of minutes. With a hefty 400l/h throughput, the machine can handle the coolant requirements of most sizes of machine with ease.

As Alfa Laval point out on the video, dirty coolants and cutting fluids are a major source of skin complaints and other health hazards, particularly once coolant becomes contaminated with tramp oils. That is when the familiar Monday Morning odours start to affect worker efficiency. At the same time, contaminated coolants reduce cutting efficiency and adversely affect tool accuracy and life.

Copies of the Alfie video, "Effective Coolant Cleaning" are available free to qualified readers and can be obtained by contacting Alfa Laval by Fax: +0 1 276 413524 or by E-mail: paul.kellett@alfalaval.com
