Boeing subsidiary appoints executive

Preston Aviation Solutions Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned Boeing [NYSE: BA] subsidiary, has announced the appointment of Alan McCartney as vice president, Business Development, a newly created executive position within the company.

Alan brings to Preston more than 30 years of aviation and technology expertise. As the former executive Chairman of Ferranti Air Systems Ltd, which is based in Manchester, England, he managed a small business development team to bring the company from receivership to a highly profitable $15 million USD international company in just 7 years.

Based in Preston's London office, McCartney will head the company's team of Global Business Development and Marketing personnel, which continues to grow with the appointment of two new business development managers: Jimmy Zuidema and Alex Garrett. Jimmy comes to Preston with over 21 years of airport, airline flight operation and consulting experience and will be responsible for the Caribbean, Central and South American markets. He will be based in Miami. Alex, who has a background in aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Continental Airlines, will join Preston's Business Development team in Atlanta.

Preston has developed an advanced optimisation and visualisation technology, as well as industry expertise, to meet the needs of its customers through innovative software systems and consulting services.
