Kerry has developed bench-top ultrasonic cleaning baths which can be programmed to maximise the quality and repeatability of results. MKC baths are said to allow the user to pre-set exact cleaning times and temperatures, ensuring consistent levels of cleanliness from batch to batch (Plate 6).

Kerry's MKC units claim to thoroughly remove oil, swarf and other manufacturing residues from machined parts, including those with highly intricate shapes. Although generally quicker than manual scrubbing or spray washing, ultrasonic cleaning is inherently gentle, making it suitable for precision parts.

Plate 6 Kerry has developed bench-top ultrasonic cleaning baths which can be programmed to maximise the quality and repeatability of results. MKC baths allow the user to pre-set exact cleaning times and temperatures, ensuring consistent levels of cleanliness from batch to batch

MKC baths are available in capacities of 6, 14 and 22l to suit different workloads. Each unit is designed with a small footprint to maximise the available working area.

With the addition of optional Neptune high frequency (70 kHz) ultrasonics, MKC baths are said to safely remove fine particle contamination from difficult or intricately shaped parts.

Operating temperatures from 20 to 80°C can be set in 1° increments, allowing the optimum temperature to be selected for a particular combination of component material, cleaning solution and contaminant. Process times from 6 s up to 99.9 min can be pre-programmed in 6 s increments.

All functions are controlled by a simple four-button membrane keypad. An LCD panel displays the temperature and time set by the user, the time elapsed since the start of the cleaning process, and the status of the power supply, heater and ultrasonics.
