At the recent MRO Europe 2004, Huntsman Advanced Materials, a global manufacturer of epoxy and polyurethane adhesives, syntactics and laminating resins showcased the latest advances in bonding technologies for the fabrication, assembly and repair of aircraft components.

Marking a major step forward in adhesive technologies available to aviation engineers and the maintenance, repair and overhaul sector, Huntsman's dedicated aerospace team will launch a range of new products, qualified or in qualification for use by the world's leading aircraft manufacturers.

Additional developments taking centre stage on the Huntsman stand included a new, single-use packaging range, designed to satisfy increasing demand for pre-measured quantities of industrial adhesives for commercial use.

Chris Mellings, aerospace market manager at Huntsman Advanced Materials said, “Our aerospace team has an ambitious strategy in place to support the future of aviation. MRO 2004 marks the culmination of many years' work in which we have invested in R&D and built solid relationships with key aircraft manufacturers. In response to their needs we have developed a complete range of adhesives for use in next generation aircraft”.

He continued, “Over the next few years we will continue to introduce innovative new products to increase performance, reduce down-time and manage aviation assembly and MRO costs. The market is entering an exciting period and we look forward to working closely with our aerospace customers to help them gain a competitive edge during the next phase of industry growth”.

Huntsman Advanced Materials manufactures Araldite, Epibond, Epocast, Eposert and Uralane adhesives for the aerospace market. Suitable for bonding composite, metal, honeycomb and plastic substrates, many of Huntsman's structural adhesives are qualified for use by major aircraft manufacturers.
