Walter GB has added polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tooling to its standard range, offering users across a range of industry sectors which machine high quantities of aluminium – in particular automotive and aerospace companies – a process-reliable and potentially huge cost saving alternative, particularly for high-speed machining applications.
Until now, Walter provided PCD tooling only as “specials”. The new PCD range embraces shank-type milling, routing and boring-type milling cutters with different cutting edge lengths. The tools for milling/ boring feature brazed-type inserts for maximum dimensional accuracy and performance, and are available in monobloc design with HSK flange and the modular ScrewFit adaptor. Shank- type and routing cutters feature solid carbide shanks.
