Brookhouse is now Nadcap- approved

Keywords: Metals, Aircraft industry

Brookhouse Composites, of Darwen, has become the first UK-mainland company to achieve Nadcap approval for composite pre-preg manufacture and metal-to-metal bonding to AS 7118. This complements the company's existing Nadcap approvals for chemical processing to AS7108 and non-destructive testing to AS7114/3 and further reinforces the company's reputation for quality in the aerospace sector.

Nadcap is the world-wide co- operative programme of major companies, which allows industry oversight of the quality control of specific manufacturing processes and products within the aerospace sector, from coatings and composites to electronics and heat treatment. It promotes continuous improvement and enhances product quality by focussing on overall supplier performance.

Quality continues to be fundamental to Brookhouse. It was one of the first companies in the UK to be approved to ASEN9100:2000 and carries customer approvals from most of the major aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus, BAe Systems, Rolls Royce, SAAB and Bombardier. It is approved to EASA Part 21G, which allows it to manufacture and release to service components direct to the original equipment manufacturer and airlines covered by the European agency. It is an Airbus-Hamburg approved repair station and, following its recent certification to FAR 145, it now has dual certification to maintain, repair and release to service composite components for aircraft of both European and US registration.
