Lloyd Doyle have announced an extension to their range of Excalibur 5000 automatic optical inspection machines. The new XXLF machine offers full inspection capacity of 36in. × 60in. panel size.

This new machine enables manufacturers of large backplanes to perform inspection to data with a single pass.

Commenting on this, sales director Richard Frisk said: "Lloyd Doyle took a gamble on making large format machines over three years ago. The success of machines with 36in. x 48in. scan capability was so great that we have put further development in to this market with the new size."

The Excalibur range represents the cutting edge of AOI technology for the bare board PCB sector with rapid, accurate inspection without incurring false alarms. It can be used with the new SABRE verification system to provide a complete solution to a user's AOI requirements.
