Labtech the UK-based manufacturer of microwave printed circuit boards, announce the purchase of a complete PCB registration system from Billows Protocol Ltd. The system consists of a semi-automatic film punch, fully automatic post-etch punch, bonding tools and photomech printing tools to assist in its application and Vision System software.

Brian Popsys, Labtech's operations manager, comments, "This new equipment provides a complete system for the alignment of multilayers and efficient registration of outer layers. We can now use SPC (statistical process control) data to build up a picture of material movement, significantly reducing the problems of material movement inherent with PTFE. In addition, we can now use first generation silver halide films for printing instead of producing diazo copies, eliminating film stretch and the introduction of artwork faults associated with this extra step."
