Labtech, a UK-based manufacturer of microwave printed circuit boards, recently announced that they have received European Space Agency (ESA) approval for their metal-backed microwave circuit boards.

Approval was awarded during the development of circuits for use in a MEO (Medium Earth Orbit) satellite system, providing phone, data, fax and messaging and information services world-wide. The approval, which is generic rather than restricted to this specific project is for PTH (plated through hole) aluminium-backed boards with a range of finishes:bare copper, passivated copper or nickel/gold.
