IPC has appointed Raul Catangui as director of public policy. In his new role, Catangui covers regulatory and legislative issues pertaining to trade and environmental, health and safety. He is also responsible for developing grassroots lobbying strategies and working through regional circuit board associations to help enact legislation favorable to the industry.

Catangui comes to IPC from the American Insurance Association, where he served as the state legislative and regulatory analyst. He monitored legislation and regulation covering eight states, and advised AIA member companies and its law department on their status and economic and legal impact.

Catangui received his juris doctorate with an emphasis on international trade from American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC. Raul received a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California at Irvine and a master's in International Affairs from the American University. Catangui reports to Holly Evans, vice president of government relations.
