Printed circuit board (PCB) industry e-business facilitator, Info-Elec Ltd., has attracted further investments totaling over £1 million ($1.65 Million US) for the continued development of its PCB007.com Internet service. With the new investments have come several new appointments to the Info-Elec board.

Info-Elec's PCB007.com service matches electronics companies' PCB requirements with the capabilities of PCB fabricators world-wide. The Requests for Quotations from the buyers of printed circuit boards, along with the corresponding quotes from board fabricators, is provided free of charge. All the successful bidder pays is a small commission on the value of the order.

Developing an Internet-based, e-commerce business is a major undertaking. This latest investment will help the company move forward with its plans to develop a system and to hire a team capable to address a global market.

Joining company president Olivier Cadic on Info-Elec's board of directors are new shareholders, Innovacom, the venture capital subsidiary of France Telecom; Pascal Genest of French private equity, Orium; and Sanjay Sharma of Bear Stearns International. Also new to the board are Raymond Rasmussen, previously publisher of US printed circuit technology journal CircuiTree, and Roland Jaquet, consultant to pcb equipment manufacturers as well as board fabricators. Mr Jaquet is a past VP of Henri Jaquet, a Swiss pcb fabricator.

Another new shareholder is Marin le Corre, a partner in Alma Capital, the corporate finance arm of Nascent Advisor sa. Info-elec president, Olivier Cadic, commented: "As the founder of Info-elec I very much welcome the new additions to our board. Their experience, enthusiasm and commitment will be a tremendous asset as we strive to maintain our number one position in bringing the benefits of e-commerce to the global printed circuit board industry.'
