Labtech have announced the installation of a four daylight vacuum chamber press from HML Multilayerpressen GmbH of Hunfelden-Kirberg, Germany.

The new vacuum press will treble Labtech's current multilayer capacity and enable larger panels, with a laminate area of up to 600mm by 720mm to be processed. The press is completely computer controlled, ensuring total repeatability. In addition, the press stores parameters throughout the press cycle, providing a log of the process to maintain consistently high levels of quality.

John Priday, manager of Labtech's Special Projects Division, comments, "Labtech is experiencing major growth in demand for mixed dielectric circuits which combine the high performance characteristics of PTFE with the economies afforded by FR4. Typical applications are wireless communications devices which incorporate both high frequency components and high speed digital signal processing. A single mixed dielectric board provides a compact, superior performance alternative to two boards of different materials joined by a wired bridge. Labtech is one of a very small number of companies which are familiar with the specialist production considerations and processes required to manufacture this type of circuit."
