Signum Circuits of Selkirk, Scotland have taken delivery of an Excalibur 5000XXLF Automatic Optical Test system from Lloyd Doyle Limited.
The XXLF system installed at Signum is able to scan large format backplane panels up to 60" in one single pass, enabling a significant increase in throughput.
Ian Wylie, Signum's director of Information Systems and Services, commented: "The AOT methodology from Lloyd Doyle combines the advantages of traditional AOI with the logic of electrical test. AOT also give us added benefits when testing mixed technology designs resulting in easier set-up, more accurate information on fault causes and less false alarms during inspection. This large format system enables us to treat the large backplane layers in the same way as any other standard size inner layer with one data reference file and one set-up."
The Excalibur 5000XXLF system is fully data-linked, it is able to inspect to CAM derived data for any size layer.
