Bill Miranda appointed vice president, sales

Excellon Automation Co. has appointed Bill Miranda to the position of vice president, sales. In this capacity, he will be overseeing the worldwide sales organization for Excellon. Born and raised in New York, Bill attended the University of Nebraska as an undergraduate and earned his MS in Management Systems at West Coast University. From there, it was a straight shot up the ladder of success. In 1968 he joined the sales force at IBM where he was employed for five years. From 1973 to 1979, he worked as a sales manager and in sales training for Xerox. 1979 to 1985, he was at Data General, first as regional manager for Los Angeles, then promoted to head of corporate training, then promoted again to director of sales and marketing (which involved an extended expatriate assignment). From 1986 through 1992, Bill Miranda was vice president, sales for Computer Identics in Canton, Massachusetts. 1993 saw him launch his own company, the internationally renowned ScanMax which dealt with bar code applications. After selling ScanMax 1998, he opened his own consulting company, the LA-based Excel Learning Systems, which developed sales training programs for businesses.
