IPC names new director of PWB standards and technology

IPC has announced that Tom Newton has been named director of PWB Standards and Technology.

In this position, Newton is responsible for new and existing standards in the areas of base materials and fabrication of printed circuit boards, as well as maintaining IPC involvement in new technologies in these same fields.

Newton was most recently a senior project engineer in Advanced Manufacturing Technology for MSL in Chicago. Prior to MSL, he worked for Rockwell–Collins, AlliedSignal, Ibiden Circuits of America and 3Com Corporation.

Newton has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and an MBA in Production Management, both from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
