Frontline PCB Solutions™ and Orbotech S.A, its exclusive dealer to Europe, have announced a major purchase and installation at Alcatel, for two of Frontline’s integrated engineering suite – InGineering™ systems. The deal includes purchase and implementation of the newly announced InPlan™ system – a rules driven manufacturing process planning, and of e-quote – an Intelligent cost-based quoting system for PCB manufacturers.

InPlan™ process planning system is integrated with a central, open, database, the InMind™. Based on electronic customer and manufacturing specifications, its rules engine dynamically generates the bill of materials (BOM), traveler and CAM instructions – all revision controlled. InPlan can transform process planning into a decision making stage, in which rules and spec- driven information help to automate time- consuming and error-prone tasks. It is also integrated with CAM and ERP.

e-quote is a unique, intelligent and open quotation system for the PCB industry. It unifies the power of knowledge-based cost engineering with automatic CAM Fabrication Analysis and the Internet. The result is automatic, accurate costing and sale prices for instant transmission.

Alcatel is the first fabricator that purchased and implements the InPlan system in Europe; the implementation will take place in the coming 3 months. Alcatel joins Sanmina-SCI, who has been a design partner, and the first to purchase the system.
