Router Solutions Incorporated (RSI), has announced the release of eSight Design For Manufacturability (DFM) software. This new productivity enhancement tool tests and analyses PCB design, assessing manufacturability prior to implementation in assembly. With eSight DFM, companies receive the benefits of reduced design-to-build cycle-time, limiting material and labour costs associated with redesign, and increasing the company knowledge base for manufacturability design rules. eSight has demonstrated its return-on-investment potential providing NPI cost reductions for one leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider by 43 per cent.
eSight DFM provides an overview of the entire design-to-build process, placing particular focus on manufacturability for assembly. eSight DFM operates by reading and optimizing native ECAD data with RSI's proprietary and popular CAMCAD™ application. eSight Scripter™ provides a development tool for configuring expert, rules-driven tests of the ECAD data. These tests are then executed with the ECAD files.
