Dalian Pacific Electronics to build largest and most-advanced PCB plant in China

(Xinhua's China Economic Information Service) Investors from China, Japan and Singapore have recently joined hands in building a top-notch PCB plant with 800 million yuan of investment in the Dalian Development Zone of the port city in northeast China. A foundation stone has been laid for the Dalian Pacific Electronics Co. Ltd, a joint venture between the Dalian Daxian Stock Co. Ltd, the Dalian Pacific Multi-layered PCB Stock Co. Ltd, Singapore's SME Co. Ltd and a Japanese company. The joint venture has a registered capital of US$30 million, with the Chinese partners holding 75 per cent of the stake. The project will cover an area of 110,000 m2. When completed in January 2004, it will be the largest and most advanced PCB production base in China, producing 360,000 m2 of sliced components and devices HDI and creating US$70 million of sales value annually.
Products of the Dalian Pacific Electronics Co. Ltd will include large multi-layered PCBs, controllable impedance, build-up PCBs, backplanes and flexible PCBs. They will mainly be used to support mobile phones, routers, digital phones, auto audio components, optical communications and notebook PCs. The project will fill in the blank of the Chinese PCB industry in CAD, CAM high-speed and high-density interconnection circuit designing. A senior Chinese official of the company revealed that the company aims to rank among the world top ten PCB makers in the coming years and its ultimate goal is to become the world's leading PCB maker.
