Keywords: Printed circuits

The Concept 129 Intelli-Drille™ (Plate 1) was unveiled at the IPC/APEX EXPO at the Anaheim, CA Convention Centre, 22-24 February 2005.

Plate 1 The Concept 129 Intelli-Drill™

Designed with high precision short run applications in mind the Concept 129 Intelli-Drill combines the accuracy and ease of use of the Concept 129 family with the ability to inspect and correct for inner layer registration errors.

Using a cone shaped hole with an auto-focus and zoom CCD camera, the system “looks” at each layer and measures its variation from norm and applies algorithms to make a “best Fit” drill stroke. The data can then be displayed and used to adjust forward processes for more accurate registration and better yields.
