Roberto Tulman, VP technologies for Eltek Ltd, a leading provider of high-end PCBs, presented the afternoon’s keynote to the IPC’s HDI Technology conference held recently in Dallas Texas. The presentation highlighted the importance of reliability in HDI medical, military and aerospace boards and how to achieve it. The author presented real case-studies of very complex flex-rigid and rigid boards built for these industries with great success. The boards combined fine lines, laser vias, sequential laminations, thermal solutions and via filling techniques.
Proper designed and manufactured HDI boards enable the OEMs to reduce systems sizes and weights, improve electrical characteristics and get better endurance and reliability.
