Faraday Circuits invest in new equipment

Article Type: Industry news From: Circuit World, Volume 37, Issue 1

Faraday Printed Circuits Ltd, Washington, UK, have ordered from Viking Test Ltd a MicroCraft MJP ink jet legend printer and another MicroCraft Emma flying probe tester.

Faraday circuits are a leading UK manufacturer of PCBs and provide a full service to customers including conventional, PTH and multilayer on both quick turn and standard lead times. Now in its 23rd year following incorporation in 1987, Faraday currently employs 52 staff, mostly resident in the Washington area, with over 700 years of PCB manufacturing experience between them.

The MicroCraft MJP ink jet system will greatly enhance quick turn capability and reduce lead times further. It also has the added benefit of automatic scaling for every printed circuit and the ability to bar code, serialize and date stamp every image or panel if necessary.

The MicroCraft Emma will be the fourth system for Faraday who have been using these machines for the last ten years. They have proven to be the most reliable systems, very stable, very accurate and offer a very fast test speed.

The systems are due for installation in January 2011.
