CC Electronics stalwart receives industry recognition

Tom Parker, long-serving customer technical and quality manager at Winsford-based CC Electronics Europe, has been invited to become member of the Institute of Circuit Technology (ICT) Council.

Following hot on the heels of sales and marketing director Wendy Heyes’ appointment as Chair of the PCB Fabricators and Suppliers Group, Tom’s much-deserved recognition makes it a quick-fire industry double for the Nat Lane company. With 36 years’ industry experience, Tom is one of the country’s top PCB professionals and since joining CCEE in 2003, he has helped to establish the company as one of the leading manufacturers in the UK.

Now, with the ICT looking to promote the industry to both peers and professionals in other associated sectors, Tom has been invited to bring his experience and enthusiasm to bear. He comments: “This is obviously a great honour for me and it will be a pleasure and a privilege to become more involved with the ICT. ‘I have long been a guest lecturer at the ICT’s annual training weeks, when young professionals new to the industry have been given a degree of formal training. However, this new role will see me play a more fulsome part as the organisation looks to infiltrate universities, colleges and schools as well as giving support to people on vocational courses.’”

The ICT was established in 1974 and has successfully provided technology-based training and seminars to the UK’s PCB technologists and engineers, keeping them up to date with industry developments and facilitating improvement of practice through research, discussion and seminars around the country.

As a fundamental part of his remit, Tom will be asked to advise on the content of the various courses and to look at how seminars and other events are presented and run. Looking forward to his increased responsibility, he concludes: “The industry has been kind to me. It has given me a living and a career that I enjoy immensely.”

“The recognition can only be good for CCEE and it’s great to be able to give something back and to share some of my knowledge and experience in an attempt to motivate the next generation of PCB professionals.”

Long-time colleague, Wendy, is delighted to see Tom recognised by the ICT, commenting: “Much as he would never go looking for recognition, anyone who knows Tom will appreciate how well deserved this accolade really is.”
