Abstract

In 1978, Foster Wheeler Power Products, a leading designer and manufacturer of large scale boiler and similar power plant, were seeking an effective means of accelerated management development. In their researches they became attracted to Professor Revans' concepts of action learning, whereby individuals tackle real projects in other organisations and learn by initiating and achieving actions in unfamiliar surroundings.
