Entry and Market Characteristics: A Logit Study of Newspaper Launching in the Republic of Ireland
Abstract
The author uses multiple logit analysis to investigate and explain variations in the success of new entrants to the Irish provincial newspaper industry. Using local geographical markets, he concludes that area and income per head are the strongest positive influences on successful and unsuccessful entry.
