Abstract
ON October 18, the Minister of Aviation, the Rt. Hon. Julian Amery, M.P., officially opened a new cooling systems laboratory at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough. This facility will play a major part in proving the ability of air conditioning and thermal insulation systems for supersonic aircraft; to maintain an acceptable temperature level in passenger and crew cabins. It is currently being used to test an insulation and air conditioning system for the Anglo‐French B.A.C./Sud supersonic airliner passenger compartment and cooling system for the TSR.2 strike aircraft cockpit.
