Abstract

DURING THE EIGHT YEARS of original research and development of the punkah louvres in Concorde many designs and materials were tested extensively until a unit was produced which operated efficiently between minus 54° and 90°C with velocities of up to 2,000ft/min at an altitude of 65,000ft. The total results exceeded the original design and performance specifications.
