Abstract

IN THE days of aerodromes, when flying was mostly done by heroes in goggles—and Amy Johnson—travellers in foreign parts used many railway systems and, on returning to England, wrote to the Times and the Telegraph saying how superior they all were to the London & North Eastern, the LMS, the Southern and the Great Western railways.
