Old books and new verse
Abstract
ONE Saturday morning a few weeks ago, my wife and I were standing in a queue. We guessed that we were about fifty yards from the beginning but, as the front part dog‐legged out of sight to the right, that was a very rough guess. Certainly, another fifty yards or more stretched away behind us and it was then still ten minutes before the doors of the Church Hall were due to open.
