Abstract

Desktop publishing technology has been described as the fourth revolution in publishing. When the editor asked me to write an article about desktop publishing, I was going to describe it for people who know little, if anything, about it. But since it's been a long time since she asked me to write (last September!), by now probably most of you have an idea of what desktop publishing is and how it works. If you don't, there are excellent books and magazines that can explain it better than I can. What I want to do is describe how it has changed my job.
