WHAT DO DOCTORS KNOW ABOUT NUTRITION?
Abstract
A recent conference examining the state of teaching of nutrition to medical and dental students in the UK highlighted the lack of practical teaching in nutrition. The results of a study carried out in the Aberdeen district, however, showed that despite their ignorance on the subject, over 90% of doctors requested more teaching on the practical aspects of nutrition. Indeed both medical students and junior doctors were very enthusiastic to learn about nutrition, and felt that their teaching was inadequate.
