European environment commissioner Janez Potočnik unveiled the European Resource Efficiency Platform (EREP), designed to facilitate achievement of the vision outlined in the European Commission’s Roadmap to a Resource-Efficient Europe, which aims to decouple resource use and economic growth. The EREP is organized around three elements: greening the economy; setting objectives and measuring progress; and framework conditions for investment in resource efficiency.
