This year will see the most comprehensive development to the Emerald Web site since its inception in 1996. In order to continue to offer the highest level of service that users have come to expect from the database, the new version will feature a host of additional benefits and improved functionality, combined with a further increase in pagination and journal coverage.
All of the subscriptions, access methods and functionality will remain the same. As part of this improvement to Emerald, the following significant benefits and features will be incorporated:

Emerald 2001 will be hosted on more than ten servers world-wide which will offer faster and more reliable access to research material than ever before

It will now be significantly easier to register new and additional subscriptions and to link through to OPACs.
Navigation
The Emerald development team has recently concluded its research on how to make Emerald 2001 even more user-friendly. As part of this research there will now be:

a more intuitive navigation system, meaning even fewer clicks to access content.
- •
a new search engine which will make it even easier to find the content.
