F-series compact and medium-sized general purpose robots

The Kawasaki F-Series robots are an industry first, offering a modular arm assembly with six-axis movement. Sixteen configurationsare available in this line-up of small- and medium-sized general-purpose robots (see Plate 3).

F-Series features

  1. 1.

Optimum arm configuration for your system. Kawasaki offers a wide variety of robot arms, including a new 20kg transport arm. This can be combined with a range of base models that support 6kg, 10kg, 20kg, 30kg and 45kg loads. A total of 18 different configurations are possible. These can fulfil a range of requirements including compactness, extended reach and well-mounting, in a wide variety of applications such as arc welding, washdown and cleanroom environments. The modular construction enables the robot to be easily reconfigured for completely different applications.

  2. 2.

Faster speeds and shorter cycle times. The combination of a lighter arm, a compact, high-output motor and high efficiency speed reduction units makes Kawasaki's F-Series operate 20 per cent faster than conventional models. Acceleration is also faster, greatly reducing cycle times.

  3. 3.

Space saving design. The F-Series is designed to be substantially narrower than previous models. Arm width has been reduced, eliminating the lateral offset and allowing more peripherals to be incorporated in the same work cell. In addition, the compact, low-curvature articulating joints enable straightforward routing of cables and hoses.
