Plate 2 Modular Automation, the assembly automation company from Birmingham, has adopted the CATIA V5 platform for its engineering design, giving it a lead especially in the important automotive sector

EADS Matra Datavision supplied the system. "They helped us to identify the best CAE tool to satisfy our design needs now and in the future", explained Trevor Dixon, Modular's Technical Director. "CATIA V5 was a clear favourite that will allow us to work even closer with our customers that are already using the CATIA platform".

Since the implementation of CATIA V5 on 20 stations throughout the Modular Automation design, office productivity has improved dramatically. Much of the improvement is achieved through using the KnowledgeWare software that has enabled the Modular team to live by the "right first time" principle.

"KnowledgeWare has helped us to minimise errors, reduce design time and has given us the freedom to be more innovative. Now we can respond even better to our customers' needs," continued Trevor Dixon.

CATlA V5 is cutting-edge technology that has, as yet, been adopted only by the leading engineering design companies. The use of this new software has given the market a clear message that Modular Automation is serious about its business and committed to providing its customers with the best machine design and build service available.
