Shirin Madon is a lecturer in Information Systems at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. She has a BA (Econ.), a MSc (Information Technology) from Kingston University, UK, and a PhD (Information Systems) from Imperial College, London. Dr Madon's main research interest is studying the impact of information systems on planning and administration in developing countries. She carried out extensive fieldwork in India as part of her doctoral studies and subsequently on a research project sponsored by DFID. Dr Madon has recently been awarded a Nuffield Social Sciences Small Grant for a project entitled E-governance for Development, which aims to carry out a sociological comparative study of a selection of ongoing e-governance initiatives in India concerned with development planning, city management, primary health care, and support services. Sundeep Sahay is a Professor in Informatics at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo. His research interests is in the area of globalization and information technology. More specifically, he is working in the area of health informatics in India, Mozambique and South Africa. Another research project relates to global software work arrangements.
