Central and Eastern Europe and North Africa

Central and Eastern Europe and North Africa

Global shift in apparel production is not a new phenomenon but neither is it a once and for all change. Increasingly new sources of supply are emerging in North Africa and in the newly emerging economies of Central and Eastern Europe. These areas seem to have enormous potential as suppliers to Western Europe given their relative proximity to those markets and the associated potential for relatively quick response production. However, these areas also suffer from a range of problems which may inhibit the evolution of successful supply chain relationships. It is our intention to devote Volume 10.2 to papers dealing with any aspect of apparel production in those regions although papers dealing with emerging markets in the area will also be acceptable. Expressions of interest should be sent to the editor with a brief outline of content and an indication of the research methodology to be employed by June 2005. Final papers will be required by December 2005. All communications should be sent to D.Berriman@mmu.ac.uk in the normal manner.
