New booklet for small food businesses

New booklet for small food businesses

A useful new booklet has been produced by MAFF with practical guidance on the do's and don'ts of setting up a small business selling or making food. It consolidates three earlier MAFF booklets, Success with a Small Food Business, Building on Success, targeted at marketing and Staying Successful which is about keeping up with new developments. At the launch of the new booklet, Food and Farming Minister Lord Donoughue said "The food industry is an increasingly important part of the UK economy and there has been tremendous growth in the number of small companies joining this expanding sector. We have produced this booklet as part of our commitment to supporting the industry. Speciality and small food producers are significant employers in rural areas and I want to ensure that these innovative business people continue to play a significant part in the future of our rural economy". Copies of the booklet (Reference PB 3452) may be obtained from MAFF Publications, Admail 6000, London SW1A 2XX, Tel: 0645 556000.
