A recent survey by the British Cheese Board showed that new age man is taking the lead in the kitchen. A total of 77 per cent of men said they find cooking enjoyable and more than 55 per cent of them said they prefer to improvise when cooking rather than using a standard recipe. Over a third of the men interviewed said they spent at least five nights a week preparing food and, at the weekends, spend significantly more time in the kitchen than their female counterparts. Their favourite dishes were primarily pasta with one-third of men opting for this as their favourite dish. A quarter opted for roast meat, 19 per cent went for curry followed by oriental dishes and casseroles but topping the polls on favourite dishes cooked with cheese was lasagne.
