Do doctors take vitamin supplements?

A recent survey carried out in the USA found that 50 per cent of women physicians between the ages of 30 and 70 took vitamin and mineral supplements occasionally and that 35 per cent took them regularly. Regular supplement uses increased with age and was more likely in smokers. There were no differences in relation to ethnicity, personal income and region of the USA in which they lived. Ironically those who took supplements were likely to have a more healthy diet with more fruit and vegetables and less fat.
