Omega-3 fatty acids CD ROM

Omega-3 fatty acids CD ROM

Omega-3 fatty acids are known as essential fats because we are unable to synthesise them in our bodies. They are concentrated in marine life with the richest sources coming from mackeral, anchovies, herring, salmon and sardines. Shellfish contain lesser amounts as do certain plant foods such as walnuts, flaxseed and rapeseed. Roche Vitamin Information with the backing of the Family Heart Association has produced a CD ROM highlighting the importance of Omega-3 fatty acids. It provides healthcare professionals with all the facts they need to know, including their role in infant development, preventing coronary heart disease and inflammatory disorders and their role in lifelong health. Michael Livingston of the Family Heart Association said that Omega-3 fatty acids can be beneficial for people with high triglyceride levels in the blood and for those with cardiovascular disease. The CD ROM is available to healthcare professionals at a cost of £12 plus 75p postage and packing. A £2 donation will be made to the Family Heart Association with every purchase. To receive a copy send £12.75 payable to Sinclair Trapp Ltd to Roche CD ROM Offer, Sinclair Trapp Ltd, PO Box 6080, Bakewell, Derbyshire DE45 1YD.
