The Community Nutrition Group Annual Conference

The Community Nutrition Group Annual Conference

The Community Nutrition Group (CNG) of the British Dietetic Association (BDA) (which is the professional association for State Registered Dietitians in the UK) held their annual three-day conference at Swanwick (Derbyshire) in April.

The first day concentrated on Business Matters for members of the GNG. The second day concentrated on the changing face of community dietetics with presentations on:

  • the role of the public health dietitian;

  • over-viewing public health standards;

  • implementation of national service frameworks.

The final day of the conference focused on obesity (which is also the target for the national campaign of the BDA in 2002). Presentations included:

  • obesity management;

  • a project to tackle obesity.

The conference also included workshops, a small trade stand exhibition and poster presentations.
