Professional Food Sensory Group announces Sensory Training Accreditation Scheme

The Professional Food Sensory Group (PFSG) is pleased to announce their launch of its new initiative to accredit sensory training throughout the UK. The rationale behind the scheme is that any organisation providing training (academia, commercial training, in house training programmes) can apply to have their courses accredited by the IFST. Accreditation is to be a recognised standard which, for Foundation level, has been set out in a syllabus format. Intermediate and Advanced levels are under development.

The accreditation process can dovetail with any operating Continuing Professional Development Scheme (CPD).

Of course the benefits of accreditation do not stop with the training providers but are also passed on to the trainees/delegates/students attending the courses. At Foundation level there will be a one-hour multiple choice and short answer examination paper. This will be available to all candidates who wish to gain a certificate at this level.

The scheme is very straightforward and open to all sensory training providers. Organisations interested in gaining accreditation for existing courses or developing new courses can apply directly to IFST for an information pack.
